An oil speedpaint of Contral done in one sitting for some practice one night when a storm knocked out our internet (horrors!). I've owed him a portrait since that abominable one I did last summer.
Some lighting help courtesy of Ben Barnes's beautiful face. (You may know him as the main redeeming point of the latest Narnia film.) Barnes isn't an exact match for Contral, but he's got the perfect rich, dark brown coloring in his hair and eyes. Plus, he's ridiculously hot, so can he star in my If-This-Story-Was-a-Movie any day, right alongside Gaspard Ulliel and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.
oil on gessoed bristol board, 9x12? [Contral (c) me]
Lovely work! I really like the detail in his hair especially. Oh man, you can paint with oils--I'm jealous. I've always wanted to learn. And I thought I recognized a little Ben Barnes there.
(You may know him as the main redeeming point of the latest Narnia film.)
LOL. Yes, that too.

He is just so... so... beautiful. *surrenders to drool*
Yeah, I can see a bit of Ben Barnes. Not that that's a bad thing at all. My friends and I went to see it, and while they were busy commenting on how OH SO AWESOME the movie is, I was drooling at ze hair. And ze all of him.
Oh my gawd, but Narnia annoys me so. All the other actors besides the glorious and gorgeous Ben Barnes were really stiff, especially the girl who played Susan. Plus the whole Jesus theme puts me off. (I am proud to say that I sneaked in and didn't pay a cent to see it. I'm doing the same with the Twilight movie.)

I NEED to know who J.R.M would play! ben barned is totally cast in my movie too along side Boyd Holbrook [link]rev=/images%3Fq%3Dboyd%2Bholbrook%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-USfficial%26sa%3DN and Marc-Andre Grondin.
Anyways, I love the painterly style to this piece. Very beautifully done. OH CONTRAAALLL you make me so happy. I am totally infatuated with him so far.
GASP he's beautiful! How dare Tiber ever say he's an ugly mofo XD uwaaa I love your characters and their tragic story. I just wanted to freaking cry reading the latest excerpts, which I WILL review, I'm sorry it's taking me so long to get to it, but seriously, really good job on the sense of urgency and for making your characters so easy to care about. That's what keeps the story going, keep it up! I'm going to be sad when it's over
On another note, I really like how you painted his eyebrows and also how shiny and detailed his lips are. Very very nice

I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 2, what is it?
Haha, it was pretty bad. They added all this weird shit that wasn't in the book, like a suggested romance between Caspian and Susan and some retarded attack. But Caspian was so hot, I didn't care. So what if he couldn't act for shit and his fake Spanish accent was so inconsistent? HOTTIE.

Ahaha, I don't think Contral would ever describe himself as ugly. He is well aware that he is hot. He's not conceited about it so much as he just accepts it as a fact like "water is wet" and "the sky is blue" XD I'm glad you like the story! This story may be over, but there will be much more Contral and Mena and the others in the future. This story is just a prequel to something bigger.

HOLY SHIT who is that blonde god you just sent me, and why haven't I ogled him before?
Jonathan would play Contral's younger brother Julius. Unfortunately, Jonny would have to de-age back to his 'Gormenghast' era [link][link][link] He's great because he's swooningly gorgeous, yet there's something off about him, his stare can be so unsettling. Perfect for Jules. Haha, now we just need to find a good actor for Menachem.
Oh, and just for fun, JRM and Ewan McGregor: [link] HEEEE

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

I heard the new Narnia movie was awful.
And the best part of it was that prince Caspian was hot.
